Desperate Ministries Birthday: BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

A big announcement on the birthday of Desperate Ministries!

Amanda Mott

Before I write anything else, I need to first give a HUGE THANK YOU to the designer of this new webpage, my AMAZING and talented husband, Kyle Mott! I am so blessed by him! Isn’t this page beautiful?!

Now to announce the new direction for Desperate Ministries! Desperate Ministries will now have a major theme of prophecy and prophetic messages. Despite how you feel about prophecy, even if you don’t understand it….please read on!

> “Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good.” -1 Thessalonians 5:19-21

Why the change? A year ago today I published my first post on Desperate Ministries. A few months before this God had called me to prophetic ministry. God had used me as His prophet (His messenger) for many years but honestly I wasn’t exactly sure what prophetic ministry entailed. I did know that I was called to trust the Lord. I started posting but an interesting thing started to happen. Instead of prophecy (messages for the church), I was posting mostly testimonies (personal stories of faith). It didn’t make any sense to me but I trusted God to direct these posts and not myself to understand. Then a few months ago God said to me, “now is the time for prophecy”. My question is why? Why did He have me post a year’s worth of testimonies before posting prophecies? To understand I want to tell you a story:

A few years ago I served as the Children’s Ministry Director for a church. A big part of my job was to screen potential workers who volunteered in kid’s church. One of the main resources we used was a background check. We used a national background check which meant that if they committed a crime anywhere in the United States it would show up on this background check. This would be followed up with annual state background checks. This would help us verify that this person was who they said they were.

“You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?” -Matthew 7:16. What I believe the Lord has been doing over the last year with Desperate Ministries is giving you my spiritual background check. In truth, our testimonies should do this. The story of our walk with God should be evidence of our faith. They should show growth, reveal who we truly serve, and reveal our motives. This being said, I believe that God will continue to have me share my testimony, my stories of faith, along with biblical studies (especially on prophecy). I believe they will continue to show and prove my character.

Why? Why would God do this? Why is this so important? Here is why: False prophecy is rampant in our world!
“But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.” -2 Peter 2:1-2

Our world is saturated with messages that lift up all kinds of things that are not from God. Many of these messages appear to look “good” and some even appear to be “godly”, when in fact they aren’t. To help us understand this I will also be including a series of posts all about what prophecy is and what the Bible has to say about prophecy and the prophet. I hope that you will take time to read these posts if you have any questions or concerns about prophecy.
All this said, I hope you will join me on this new journey. I hope you can look back and see God’s wisdom in how He has lead this blog website. How He has lead it in such a way to protect you, the reader. In the end, this website’s purpose is to draw you, the reader, to God.

Believer...no matter what you are facing today, I pray you look at my testimony with Desperate Ministries, and trust the Lord! His path is perfect and His way is right. Even if things make no sense to you right now, trust in God who sees all! Trust in a God who is more than trustworthy than your fears. More trustworthy than the mountain you face. He has a plan and purpose for your life, if you would follow His path (Jeremiah 29:10-14). It might not make sense all the time but if you are being lead by Him, He will be faithful. Praying for you today.

Stay posted...big prophecies coming very very soon!!
